Self Authority & Certainty

There's a concept at the heart of everything I do: Self-Authority.

The decision to trust what you hear inside yourself, act on it, learn from it and move forward with grace and compassion. It sounds simple; however, in practice it’s one of the most courageous and vulnerable things a person can do.

Self-Authority is one of the three frequencies of The Resonance Signal (if you’re just tuning in, The Resonance Signal is the navigational tool I work with in my coaching and is integral here in The Resonance Grove). The first frequency, Intuition, vibrates before the mind translates it. The second, Values, is the ground note everything else is measured against. Self-Authority is what happens when you integrate those two frequencies so intimately, you stop waiting for external permission and start acting on what you already know.

16 years in corporate gave me every external marker of success. And for most of those years I was waiting for the right moment, the right conditions, the right level of certainty before I could trust the signal I was already receiving. What I understand now is that the waiting was itself a choice. Choosing the noise over the signal and choosing other people's certainty over my own.

And here’s the secret. Self-Authority is not certainty. It’s the decision to act on your signal even when certainty hasn't fully arrived. Every step in alignment with what you truly hear and truly value is Self-Authority in practice. And it accumulates. Each decision that comes from your signal rather than the noise makes the next one clearer… and the next one… and yes, you guessed it, the next one as well.

You become, gradually and then suddenly, the person you have been listening toward.

This week I want to offer you one question to sit with:

What would I do next if I trusted my own signal fully?

Let the answer arise before your mind reaches for it. Then notice what it would take to act on it. Even one step. Even a small one.

That step is Self-Authority. That step is resonance made visible.
