The B-Word: Boundaries

There's a word I want to talk about this week. One that tends to carry more weight and less clarity than it deserves.

Boundaries.

The moment I stopped thinking about boundaries as something I communicated to other people and started understanding them as something I returned to within myself, everything changed.

A boundary is the outer expression of your Values. The Values frequency of The Resonance Signal is the ground note of who you are, the root frequency everything else is measured against. When you know your Values with that kind of clarity, a boundary becomes a simple re-tuning. A deliberate return to the ground note, rather than a confrontation to brace yourself for.

The people I work with who struggle the most with boundaries are almost always struggling with something much more fundamental underneath. The volume on their Values has been turned way down for so long, through years of accommodating, performing and saying yes from obligation, that the root frequency has become difficult to hear. The struggle is with the internal dissonance that arises from living a life outside of your true Values.

Internal dissonance is your internal signal that you've drifted and that something is off, even when you can't name it immediately. It's your Values asking to be re-tuned.

This week I want to offer you a simple practice. Find a quiet moment and ask yourself:

What Value is asking to be heard right now?

Sit with what arises. Is there a boundary asking to be expressed? Being in conversation with your Values means actively expressing your boundaries from your place of resonance.

Notice where you need to re-tune. Notice where you’ve fallen out of conversation with your Values.
