The Practice of Letting Go
What becomes possible when you let go and make space for who you are becoming?
I notice a particular kind of exhaustion in the people I work with.
Heavy in a way that's hard to name, but strongly felt as real weight present in every moment. And often, when we look closely at the weight being carried, most of it stopped belonging a season or a decade+ ago.
An old story about who you are that may have been true once, but has since become a constraint masked as a role built around a version of yourself you've already outgrown.
This story can show up as a pattern, behavior or way of moving through the world that made sense then but now, simply doesn't ring true anymore.
Your Intuition (the first frequency of The Resonance Signal) has been registering this. The low hum of dissonance as the felt friction of carrying something that no longer vibrates at your frequency. The signal that a re-tuning is on the horizon.
The work of Past You, the Intuitive Integration dimension of The Gilbert Resonance Model, is precisely this: returning to your own history not to be defined by it, but to understand it. Past You is a resource, not a weight. Every experience, every version of yourself you've already lived, every lesson that lives in your bones — all of it belongs. The work is choosing consciously what to carry forward.
We release things because we care about something else more. Because who we are becoming has grown beyond what we've been holding. Because the space that opens when we set something down is exactly the space the next version of ourselves needs to open.
This week I want to offer you one question:
What am I still holding that no longer belongs to who I am becoming?
Let the answer come gently. Then notice what it would feel like to set it down. Beside you, not behind you. The past belongs, but you get to choose.
