Navigating Change
Who are you when everything around you shifts?
Do you ever feel disorientated when change comes?
The logistics, the decisions, the adjustments, the newness. The subtle unsteadying of who you are when your surroundings shift.
When the role changes, or the relationship shifts, or when you move the place you've called home, the external structures that have held or defined a version of yourself begin to move as well and something underneath is exposed. Friction and dissonance can become your new norm. And for a moment, or perhaps longer, the question surfaces: who am I, underneath all of this?
That question is one of the most useful things change can ask.
Because the answer is always the same. You are your Values.
The Values frequency of The Resonance Signal is the base note everything else is measured against. Present before the change. Present through it. Present after it. When you've lost your bearing in the middle of transition, your Values are the fixed point you navigate from.
A lighthouse holds its position while the sea moves around it. The storms arrive. The fog closes in. The lighthouse continues to transmit, steady and unwavering. Its signal is independent of the conditions of the water.
Your Values are that lighthouse. The more clearly you know them, the more navigable any transition becomes.
The question I'm sitting with this week, and I'll offer it to you:
What is still true about who I am, even now, even through change?
This is the beginning of a four-week arc on Navigating Change. Each week builds on the last and this week’s meditation is called Deep Breathing for a Calm Nervous System, written to steady you as you find your ground through change. Find it on The Resonance Grove podcast.
What’s change like for you? Do you notice any friction? If you’re curious about honing in on your Values and steadying the effects of change, let’s connect. I’d love to hear from you. I read and respond to every email I receive.
